Holistic Grief and Loss Therapy
Laura Vargas, MSW, LCSW
Compassionately helping adults work through life-changing transitions.
Welcome
Does it feel like your life has been flipped upside down following the loss of someone you care about or other traumatic event? If you are feeling alone, misunderstood, or like you just need someone you can talk to without fear of judgment, you have come to the right place. I would be honored to work with you and to have the opportunity to learn about what makes you uniquely you and how we can channel that to help you grow around your grief.
How I Can Help
Despite its universality, grief is one of the most difficult experiences humans have to go through. I have spent nearly a decade working with individuals grieving stigmatized losses, such as those due to overdose/substance use and suicide. When individuals have felt like no one else understands, I have been there to truly see them and to meet them where they are.
Whether you are grieving a death-loss or a non-death loss (e.g., divorce, job loss, etc.), I approach grief and trauma from a holistic lens - recognizing that these experiences impact us in all aspects of life - and weave a variety of therapeutic approaches to best meet your individual needs. The goal will never be to “get over it” or to “move on,” but rather to work on rebuilding your life in a way that feels meaningful to you.
If you are here for one of my other specialties, such as Anxiety or navigating life transitions, I will also take a strengths-based approach in our work together- serving as a source of hope and support in your roadmap to healing.
About my work
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and therapist specializing in helping adults navigate grief, loss, and other life transitions in Colorado (in-person in Denver or virtually) and Pennsylvania (virtually) by taking a holistic and evidence-based approach to therapy. As a Latina (Colombian) woman, I offer bilingual therapy (English and Spanish) and strive towards equity and inclusion in all my work.
Services
-
A supportive space to navigate grief, life transitions, trauma, or anxiety. Together, we’ll explore challenges and build tools for hope, healing, and growth.
-
Life’s challenges can strain relationships. In couples therapy we can help strengthen connection, improve communication, and work towards navigating difficulties as a team.
-
Loss and change affect the entire family. Through family therapy, we can create and hold space for processing together, supporting one another, and growing stronger as a unit.
You don’t have to face life’s hardest moments alone.
Together, we can create pathways toward healing, resilience, and connection.
Whether you’re navigating grief, life transitions, trauma, anxiety, or OCD, I offer spaces for individuals, couples, families, and communities to feel seen and supported.
“Out of your vulnerabilities will come your strength.”
